Producing seed at home requires a male and a female plant flowering at the same time. To obtain a new generation of cannabis indica seeds, a grower collects pollen from a chosen male and brushes it onto a few lower branches of a female, keeping the rest of the plant unpollinated. The seeds take four to six weeks to mature and are ready when they darken and loosen in their husks. After a week or two of drying, they can be stored for later use.
