Sex ratio offers a useful clue about how a batch was produced. In quality regular cannabis seeds the proportion of males to females stays close to even across a reasonably large sowing, reflecting ordinary pollination by a true male. A pack that yields almost entirely females may have come from a self-pollinated plant and could pass on that tendency. Counting the outcome over several packs gives a more reliable picture than a single small run.
